Marc Caligtan, MD

Dr. Marc Caligtan brings a unique blend of clinical excellence, community spirit, and personal warmth to his work in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. A proud graduate of the University of Virginia, Dr. Caligtan earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology before advancing to VCU’s Medical College of Virginia, where he completed both his Master of Science in Physiology and his medical degree.

He sharpened his clinical skills during an internship at Johns Hopkins University (Sinai Department of Internal Medicine), followed by a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at his alma mater, UVA.

Beyond the clinic, Dr. Caligtan is deeply committed to service—offering his medical expertise to local sports programs and volunteering on medical mission trips to La Trinidad in the Philippines. His approach to care is rooted in compassion, cultural humility, and a drive to help people move, heal, and thrive.

When he’s not seeing patients or giving back to the community, you’ll likely find Dr. Caligtan in the kitchen, cooking for his wife and kids—or cheering on UVA athletics and the Washington Commanders. A true fan through thick and thin, he’s still holding out hope for the return of the Vince Lombardi Trophy to the nation’s capital.
